May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You have compassion upon us and help us that we merit to engage in Your holy Torah always, day and night; may this book of the Torah not depart from our mouth nor from the mouth of our offspring forever [ Joshua 1:8 ]. And may we merit to understand and to comprehend all the words of Your Torah — to understand all the words of the holy Torah in their essence and their truth with great swiftness. And may we merit to understand a matter from within a matter; and to always originate true novellae [ chiddushim ] in Your holy Torah — novellae that shall be a satisfaction and a desire before the Throne of Your Glory. And may You grant us merit through the engagement in Torah that we merit thereby to complete repentance in truth for all our sins and iniquities and transgressions — that we have sinned and transgressed and rebelled before You from the day of our being upon the earth until this day; and may the illuminating power of the Torah [ hama'or shebaTorah ] return us to the good in true and complete truth. And may we merit through the engagement in the holy Torah to clarify and gather and raise up all the holy sparks [ nitzotsos kedoshos ] and all the holy letter-combinations [ tzeirufim ] from all the worlds together that fell through us among the klippos — and scattered to where they scattered; and fell to where they fell. Please Hashem — full of mercy; Who devises thoughts so that no castaway be cast off from Him [ II Samuel 14:14 ]. You know that we are unable to clarify and raise them up by ourselves — Your mercies are great, Hashem ; Your mercies are very great: have compassion upon us and upon the holy sparks and upon the holy letters scattered and dispersed among the nations and the klippos . And help us to return in complete repentance before You in truth. And may You hasten and hurry to clarify and gather and redeem all the holy sparks from the exile; and return them to their place in peace. And may You restore and repair the blemish of all the worlds — and all the holy Names that we have blemished through our iniquities; and may the King restore His exiled ones; and may You gather them again in holiness a second time. And may the verse be fulfilled: And Hashem your G‑d will return your captivity and have compassion upon you; and He will again gather you from all the peoples to which Hashem your G‑d scattered you [ Deuteronomy 30:3 ]. Even if your outcasts be at the ends of heaven — from there shall Hashem your G‑d gather you; and from there He will take you [ Deuteronomy 30:4 ]. And may You raise up the Shechinah from its exile and establish it from the dust. And may You complete the holy da'as ; and draw holy knowledge and great mercy in the world; and nullify anger and cruelty from the world. And may the verse be fulfilled: They shall neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain; for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of Hashem as the waters cover the sea [ Isaiah 11:9 ]. And through Your abundant mercies may You have compassion upon us and pray for us Yourself; and arouse through Your simple mercies Your great mercies — Your abundant, Your great mercies. And may the verse be fulfilled: And with great mercy I shall gather you [ Isaiah 54:7 ]. For You know, Hashem our G‑d, that there is no one who can stand up for us who is able to arouse mercy upon us at this time — for we have become so very distanced from You as we have become, as You know; and there is no one who knows at this time how to arouse mercy upon us except You alone. Our Father, our King — pray for us please; and may we live and not die; and the land not become desolate. And may the verse be fulfilled: And he shall pray for him always; all day he shall bless him [ Psalms 72:15 ]. And may You arouse through Your simple mercies Your abundant great mercies — great and immense mercies powerful enough to have compassion and to draw close even me to You; mercies that have no hold of stern judgment at all. For we have no one to lean upon save our Father in Heaven. Have compassion and be gracious to us and have mercy upon us and save us speedily for Your Name's sake. Your mercies are great, Hashem — according to Your laws revive me [ Psalms 119:156 ]. Compassionate and gracious is Hashem ; slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness [ Psalms 103:8 ]. Hashem is good to all; and His mercies are upon all His works [ Psalms 145:9 ]. According to Your lovingkindness revive me; and I shall keep the testimony of Your mouth [ Psalms 119:88 ]. Your lovingkindness, Hashem , fills the earth — teach me Your statutes [ Psalms 119:64 ]. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And I shall bring them to My holy mountain; and I shall gladden them in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be willingly received upon My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples [ Isaiah 56:7 ]. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem , my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You help me to return in complete repentance before You in truth. Master of the Universe — You know the great extent of my distance from You through my many and very immense transgressions and sins reaching to the heights of heaven; until I know no way of how to return to You; for the materially turbid coarseness of the body and its evil desires has gripped me and cleaved to me very much; and my mind has become very confused and turbid and coarsened. Master of all the world — have compassion and pity upon me; and give me good counsel as to how to search and seek and dig and find some way and path and trail; in such a manner that I merit to return to You from now. And grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to be accustomed to sighing before You in truth from the depth of the heart — about the great extent of my distance from You; and that You grant me merit to draw close to You in truth. And may I sigh about this in truth at every time; until my entire body is shattered by each and every sigh. And may I merit through my sighs to expel from me the spirit and the breath of the sitra achra [other side]; and to draw into me the holy spirit and breath [ ruach vahevel dikdushah ]. And through this may I merit to uproot and to sever the cord of impurity that became knotted to me through my many iniquities. And help me speedily that I merit to sever and to cut myself completely from the cord of impurity; and to cleave and to bind myself with a firm and strong bond to the cord of holiness [ chevel dikdushah ] forever and to all eternity. And may You sever and drive away and nullify from me — from my body and my soul and my spirit and my neshamah — all manner of impurities and alien forces [ sitrin ochranin ]. And draw me close and bind me through Your mercies to the cord of holiness in truth — with a firm and strong bond from now and forever. And from now may You draw upon me good and long life through the holy cord. And may You be gracious to us from You with an abundance of goodness and blessing and mercy and life and peace and all good — true life; holy life; life in which there is fear of Heaven; life in which we merit to complete repentance in truth; and to serve You always and to cleave to the living G‑d. Living G‑d, our portion and our Rock — revive us in the light of Your face; raise me up and may I live holy life; help me and be gracious to me and bind my heart to Your commandments; grant me merit to be always cleaved to You forever and ever. And guard me and save me through Your mercies from the sighs of the sitra achra — that no breath or sigh go out from me for the desires of this world and its vanities, G‑d forbid; rather may all my sighs and my longing and my desire be only for Your Name and Your service — to draw close to You in truth. And may I merit to cleave to You always; and may the verse be fulfilled in me: And you who are attached to Hashem your G‑d — you are all alive today [ Deuteronomy 4:4 ]. Amen and Amen. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — G‑d of faith: that You grant us merit through Your abundant mercies and Your immense lovingkindnesses to complete and true faith with a whole heart; that I merit to believe in You and in Your true tzadikim with complete and true faith. And may I merit to enter and to cleave and to be included within the completeness of the holy faith. And may I be strong and courageous in the holy faith; until I merit to be transformed from the coarseness of my body into the essence of the holy faith — and may the holy faith consume me; until all the evil that has gripped me be consumed and nullified. And may I merit to be transformed from evil to good; through the completeness of the faith that You grant me merit to be included and to be nullified within the holy faith in complete nullification. And grant me merit speedily to come to the Land of Israel in peace without harm; and to draw close and to cleave to the true tzadikim with great cleaving and with complete and true faith. And have compassion upon me with Your great compassion; and do not deal with me according to my sins nor judge me according to my deeds. And grant me merit through Your mercies and open for me the gates of the holy faith; and help me to enter into the faith in truth; and to be included within it with great inclusion — until I merit to be consumed by the faith and to be transformed into its holy essence; into the holy essence of the Land of Israel; and into the holy essence of the true tzadikim . And may the land and the holy faith not vomit me out as it vomited out the nation that was before me. And even though I am not worthy or deserving to touch the holy faith and the holy Land of Israel; and to draw close to the true tzadikim — for I have very greatly worsened my deeds and have cut off my own holiness — nonetheless: Your mercies are great, Hashem ; Your mercies are very great. Grant me merit through Your mercies; and help me and save me; that the holy faith be able to tolerate me within it and to hold me always; until I merit to be consumed and to be transformed into the essence of the holiness of the faith in truth. Full of mercy — grant me merit to complete faith in all its aspects; for we have no hope or support now except in the holy faith — as it is written: And the righteous person shall live by his faith [ Habakkuk 2:4 ]. For You know the immense strength of the yoke of the exile of the soul — through the bodily desires that constantly strengthen. And through our many iniquities our strength has weakened and our hand has greatly faltered to stand against them; to shatter and to nullify them completely — except through the power of the holy faith that You grant us merit to enter and to be included within the faith with great inclusion; until we merit to be consumed by the faith and to be transformed into the essence of the holy faith. And may we merit to fulfill the verse: Trust in Hashem and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faith [ Psalms 37:3 ]. Hashem — are not Your eyes toward faithfulness? [ Jeremiah 5:3 ]. Grant me merit through Your mercies to the holy faith in completeness truly as Your good will desires. All Your commandments are faith — they pursued me with falsehood; help me [ Psalms 119:86 ]. Hashem , hear my prayer; listen to my supplications — in Your faithfulness answer me; in Your righteousness [ Psalms 143:1 ]. And may the verse be fulfilled: And the heavens shall praise Your wonder, Hashem — also Your faithfulness in the congregation of the holy ones [ Psalms 89:6 ]. And it is written: And My faithfulness and My lovingkindness shall be with him; and in My Name shall his horn be exalted [ Psalms 89:25 ]. And it is written: I shall keep My lovingkindness for him forever; and My covenant shall be faithful to him [ Psalms 89:29 ]. And My lovingkindness I shall not remove from him; and I shall not betray My faithfulness [ Psalms 89:34 ]. The lovingkindnesses of Hashem I shall sing forever; to generation and generation I shall make known Your faithfulness with my mouth. For I said: the world is built on lovingkindness; the heavens — You shall establish Your faithfulness in them. Hashem G‑d of Hosts — who is like You, mighty G‑d? And Your faithfulness is around You [ Psalms 89:2–4, 9 ]. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And I shall betroth you to Me forever; and I shall betroth you to Me in righteousness and in judgment; in lovingkindness and in mercy. And I shall betroth you to Me in faithfulness; and you shall know Hashem [ Hosea 2:21–22 ]. Do not forsake me, Hashem my G‑d; do not be distant from me. Hasten to my help, my Lord, my salvation [ Psalms 38:22–23 ]. Blessed is Hashem forever — Amen and Amen [ Psalms 89:53 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You help me through Your abundant mercies; and grant me merit to welcome in Torah scholars as guests within my home [ hachnasas orchim talmidei chachamim ]; and may I merit to receive them with great honor and to honor them with all strength and glory; until this mitzvah of welcoming Torah scholars as guests rise before You as if I had brought the continual offerings in their order [ temidim kesidram ]. And in the merit of this may You help me that I merit to pray my prayer before You with great concentration with all my heart and soul and with clean and upright thought for Your great Name alone in truth; and without any confusion or muddling of mind; and without any alien thoughts at all. And may You guard me and save me from bad prayers [ tefillos ra'os ]; and may bad prayers not confuse my holy prayer. And may You rectify and purify my prayer; and may my prayer be complete and orderly in my mouth; and may my words please the Master of all. And may my prayer rise before You to desire — on high and beyond; and may it rise and be borne to be a crown upon Your head. And may You fill all my requests for good with compassion. Listen, Hashem , to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications [ Psalms 86:6 ]. And I — may my prayer be to You, Hashem , at a time of favor; O G‑d, in Your abundant lovingkindness — answer me with the truth of Your salvation [ Psalms 69:14 ]. May His conversation be sweet in my ears; I myself shall rejoice in Hashem [ Psalms 104:34 ]. May sinners cease from the earth; and the wicked be no more — bless Hashem , O my soul. Halleluyah [ Psalms 104:35 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You have compassion upon me and help me and save me that I merit to turn from evil and to do the good in Your eyes always; and may You make me lovable and gracious and kind and merciful in Your eyes and in the eyes of all who see me; and may You repay me with good lovingkindnesses. And may I merit to fulfill in completeness the commandment: And you shall love Hashem your G‑d [ Deuteronomy 6:5 ] — that the Name of Heaven be beloved through me; that my business dealings be in faithfulness; and my speech in gentleness with people; and may the spirit of the Omnipresent and the spirit of people be pleased with me; and may I be beloved above and cherished below; and may I find favor and good understanding in the eyes of G‑d and man [ Proverbs 3:4 ]. And have compassion upon me and prepare my livelihood with expansiveness; and give me all my needs and all the needs of my household before I require them — without any effort or toil or labor at all. Master of the Universe — You know that our sustenance is as hard as the splitting of the Sea of Reeds [ Pesachim 118a ]; but You are great and immensely powerful; and through Your great power and Your abundant lovingkindnesses — even the splitting of the Sea of Reeds is easy before You; for who can say to You what to do; and nothing is withheld from You. Therefore have compassion upon us in the merit of our first father Avraham the man of lovingkindness; and act for the sake of his love; and give us our livelihoods with very great expansiveness — without any effort or toil and without any distraction at all. And do not compel me either to depend upon the gifts of flesh and blood or upon their loans; in such a manner that I merit to keep Your commandments and to do Your will and to engage in Your Torah always all the days of my life — I and my offspring and my offspring's offspring and all the offspring of Your people the House of Israel from now and forever. And may the verse be fulfilled in me: Cast upon Hashem your burden; and He shall sustain you — He shall never allow the righteous one to falter [ Psalms 55:23 ]. The eyes of all look to You; and You give them their food in its time. You open Your hand and satisfy every living being with [Your] will [ Psalms 145:15–16 ]. Our Father, merciful Father — sustain me and support me through Your abundant mercies alone; not according to my deeds and not according to the evil of my actions — rather act with me according to Your lovingkindness; as it is written: Who gives bread to all flesh — for His lovingkindness is forever [ Psalms 136:25 ]. And do not forsake me and do not abandon me; help me for I lean upon You. Do not forsake me, Hashem my G‑d; do not be distant from me. Hasten to my help, my Lord, my salvation [ Psalms 38:22–23 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You grant me merit through Your abundant mercies to go and travel to true tzadikim for Rosh HaShanah; and to be always bound [ m'kushar ] to true tzadikim ; and through this may I merit to sanctify my mind and thought with great holiness. And have compassion upon me with Your great compassion; and be with me and save me from all manner of alien thoughts and from all manner of blemish of da'as in the world; and be gracious to me from Yourself with wisdom, knowledge, understanding and insight; and grant me merit speedily to holiness of thought in completeness in truth. And through Your abundant mercies sweeten and nullify all the judgments from upon us and from all Your people the House of Israel from now and forever. And may we merit to receive the holiness of Rosh HaShanah through the true tzadikim ; and to repair all the rectifications that need to be repaired on Rosh HaShanah — which is the source of the judgments of the entire year. And may our thought be holy and pure always; and in particular on the holy Rosh HaShanah. Please, O Merciful One — through Your abundant mercies have compassion upon us; and grant us merit and be gracious to us then with even greater holiness of thought; and guard us and save us that no alien or outside thought rise upon our mind then at all; rather in Your Name shall we rejoice all the day — in awe and in fear; in great holiness and purity; in holy, clean and bright thoughts — at the ultimate brightness and clarity. Until we merit through the power of the attachment to the true tzadikim to repair and to clarify all the clarifications on Rosh HaShanah; to clarify all the holy sparks from the depths of the klippos ; and to sweeten and nullify all the judgments in the world from upon us and from all Your people the House of Israel. And may only goodness and lovingkindness and salvation and great mercy be drawn upon us from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. And may You inscribe and seal us then for long and good life and for peace — for true life; life in which there is fear of Heaven; life in which we merit to keep Your commandments and to do Your will truly and with a whole heart; and to repair all that we have blemished from our very beginnings until this day. And may You pour upon us good livelihood and mercy and life and peace and all good. Master of the Universe — You know the great obligation to travel to true tzadikim for Rosh HaShanah; and You also know the immense multitude of impediments that strengthen against this from all directions. O You Who takes pity upon the poor — have compassion and pity upon us and help us and grant us merit to shatter all the impediments; and show us Your ways and guide us in Your truth and teach us; that we merit to go and travel to true tzadikim for Rosh HaShanah; in such a manner that we merit through them to holiness of thought in truth. For You know that now in the footsteps of the Mashiach [ ikvesa dimeshicha ], the main pillar and salvation of ours is only on the holy days of Rosh HaShanah — through which we lean to draw close to You; and to draw Your G‑dliness and Your sovereignty upon us from Rosh HaShanah over the entire year. And we do not know what to do on the holy days of Rosh HaShanah; and how to satisfy You then as is proper; that we merit to crown You as King over us in awe and in fear; and how to stand against all the enemies and the accusers — to seal the mouths of those who slander and accuse us; except through the merit and the power of the true tzadikim — upon them we lean and upon them we rely; for they shall battle before us and humble and cast down all our enemies and pursuers; and draw upon us the holiness of Rosh HaShanah in completeness. Therefore have compassion upon us for Your Name's sake; and be with us that we merit to shatter all the impediments; and merit to come to the true tzadikim for Rosh HaShanah; and to be bound to them in truth; and to merit the holiness of thought in completeness through them; and merit to sweeten and nullify all the judgments and to draw upon us good lovingkindnesses; and may You grant us merit to recognize and to know Your exaltedness and Your dominion over us; and may You reign over us in Your glory speedily. And may every creature know that You created it; and may every being understand that You formed it; and may all in whose nostrils there is breath say: Hashem G‑d of Israel is King and His Kingdom rules over all. And may You purify us and sanctify us in Your supernal holiness from now and forever — Amen, Selah. Master of the Universe — grant me merit through Your abundant mercies; and help me and save me and give me a good heart that I merit to multiply in charity. And grant me merit to give ma'aser [tithe] from my money and from all that You shall be gracious to give me through Your mercies; and may You prepare for me worthy poor people to gain merit through them. And through this may You save me from my enemies and my pursuers — for it is Your way to seek the pursued; even if a righteous man pursues a wicked one. Have compassion and pity and mercy upon me for Your Name's sake; and be with me and save me and strengthen my heart; that I merit to always give ma'aser from all that You shall be gracious to give me through Your abundant mercies. And may You extend Your great hand upon me; and prepare my livelihood for me from Yourself; and supply me with all my needs and all the needs of my household with very great expansiveness — before I need them; from beneath Your wide and full hand. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And I shall open for you the windows of heaven and pour out upon you a blessing until there be no lack [ Malachi 3:10 ]. And may I merit to always rejoice in my portion and to be content with what You shall bestow upon me. And may I not rush after wealth, G‑d forbid; and in the shadow of Your wings may You hide me; and protect me in the shadow of Your great hand; and cover me and save me from all my enemies and my pursuers in the material and in the spiritual. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And I have placed My words in your mouth; and with the shadow of My hand I covered you — to plant heavens and to lay the foundations of earth; and to say to Zion: you are My people [ Isaiah 51:16 ]. And may You make peace in the world; and may the verse be fulfilled: Truth shall sprout from the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven [ Psalms 85:12 ]. Lovingkindness and truth have met; righteousness and peace have kissed [ Psalms 85:11 ]. And it is written: In righteousness shall you be established; keep far from oppression for you shall not fear it; and from ruin for it shall not come near you [ Isaiah 54:14 ]. Help me for I lean upon You; draw close to my soul and redeem it; because of my enemies — redeem me. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem , my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — G‑d slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth [ Exodus 34:6 ]: that You have compassion and pity upon me according to the greatness of Your graciousness; and help me and save me and grant me merit to give much charity to many worthy poor people for Your Name alone in true and complete truth; without any ulterior motives and without any falsehoods at all. And may my hand be open to be generous and to give to many worthy destitute ones all that they lack — with much joy and very great exultation; with a good heart and a pleasant countenance. And may I merit to multiply in charity always for Your Name alone as Your good will desires; until I merit through the power of the holy charity to humble and to shatter and to nullify the power of the charity of the wicked who oppose holiness — whom You cause to stumble through unworthy poor people; and their hands shall not have ability; and they shall have no power whatsoever against Your people Israel who desire to serve You in truth. And may You draw upon us Your great holiness; and pour upon us strength and valor from the true tzadikim — the elders of holiness [ zekeinim shebikdushah ]. And through their merit and their power may we merit to humble and shatter and nullify the old and foolish king [ melech zaken uchesil ]; to banish him and his forces from upon us and from our territory; and may You burn the spirit of impurity from the land; and nullify from upon us all manner of evil imaginations that pursue us at every time — and especially after those who truly desire to draw close to You; as is revealed before You, Master of all, full of mercy. And may we merit to draw upon us the light of the face of the living King [ or pnei melech chayyim ] — the holy illumination of the face drawn from the holy Arich Anpin dikdushah [the long-suffering, holy, supernal attribute]. And help us to humble and to shatter and to drive away and to nullify from us all the evil imaginations drawn from the Arich Anpin diklipha [the corresponding impure force]. And protect us that no evil woman whose root is drawn from there should strike us; nor any evil imagination drawn from there from the Arich Anpin diklipha — from which it is impossible to hide or to flee; for in every direction one turns they present themselves and appear there. Please the Name — full of mercy; abundant in lovingkindness and truth: have compassion upon us and save us from the sitra de'mosa [the side of death]; from evil imaginings of immorality — which are called the sitra de'mosa and they are more bitter than death [ Ecclesiastes 7:26 ]; and they are called the father of all impurity. O You Who takes pity upon the poor; Who devises thoughts so that no castaway be cast off from Him: save us from them; guard us from them; have compassion upon those of weak strength such as we are today in this generation in the footsteps of the Mashiach — where we have descended very far below with no one to help or support. We have sunk in murky depths and there is no footing; we have come to the deep waters and the flood has swept over us [ Psalms 69:3 ]. Have compassion upon us according to Your abundant mercies; and give us graciousness and may we not perish; and give us strength to humble and to shatter and to drive away and to nullify the Arich Anpin diklipha from upon us and from our territory; and may no evil imagination drawn from there come upon us. In Your righteousness revive us; and bring out our soul from distress — for You alone know who and who stands against us at every time and every day and every hour; against all those who desire to return to You and to draw close to You; who strengthen against each and every one with very great strengthening; and pursue after us as one who calls on the mountains. Great in counsel and mighty in deed [ Jeremiah 32:19 ] — have compassion upon the remnant that remains and save us from death and redeem us from the grave. Save my soul from the sword; my only one from the hand of the dog [ Psalms 22:21 ]. And may You pour upon us holy true counsel at every time; in such a manner that we merit to be truly saved from all manner of evil imaginations in the world; and may they not rise nor come upon our heart at all; and may we merit to holiness of thought in truth. O You Who revives the dead with great mercy — raise us up and may we live in the light of Your face; and may we live and not die the death of the world, G‑d forbid. Grant us merit through Your abundant mercies to multiply in charity for Your Name alone in truth; and through the merit of the holy charity may You save us from death — which are the evil imaginations called the impurity of a corpse [ tumas meis ]; as it is written: And charity saves from death [ Proverbs 10:2 ]. And may You guard me always that I not be mixed among women; and not increase conversation with them; and even with my wife may I minimize conversation as much as possible. And that which I am compelled to speak with them sometimes — protect me and guard me through Your mercies that I not be ensnared by this, G‑d forbid, through any evil imagination, G‑d forbid. And save me from evil glances and from evil imaginations; and may I not stray after my heart and after my eyes [ Numbers 15:39 ]. Help us for we lean upon You; for we have no one to lean upon save our Father in Heaven. Save me from the mire and let me not sink; let me be saved from my enemies and from the deep waters. Let not the flood of water sweep over me; and let not the deep swallow me; and let not the pit close its mouth over me [ Psalms 69:15–16 ]. Turn to me and be gracious to me; give Your strength to Your servant; and save the son of Your handmaid [ Psalms 86:16 ]. Make with me a sign for good; and let my enemies see it and be ashamed — for You, Hashem , have helped me and comforted me [ Psalms 86:17 ]. I in righteousness shall behold Your face; I shall be satisfied upon awaking with Your likeness [ Psalms 17:15 ]. Rescue me, Hashem , from the evil man; from the violent man guard me. Who devise evils in the heart — every day they stir up wars. All day long they twist my words; all their thoughts are for evil [ Psalms 140:2–4 ]. Master of the Universe — Master of all the world: You know the immense multitude of the dispute that has strengthened in the world now; and on account of this many very numerous evil thoughts fall upon us without measure or reckoning. And through our many iniquities — through the great immensity of the dispute there come thoughts of heresy against the upright ones of the generation; as You have revealed to us through Your holy sages. And in our great poverty and weakness we know no counsel or stratagem to stand against the many evil thoughts and confusions that flow over us at every time; and we have no one to lean upon save our Father in Heaven. And we cast ourselves upon You alone; into Your hand we deposit our spirit; and we surrender the entire battle to You alone; and You shall battle for us — for You are a man of war; as it is written: Hashem is a man of war; Hashem is His Name [ Exodus 15:3 ]. And who can stand against You? Full of mercy; O You Who takes pity upon the poor; Who is close to those who call upon Him in truth — have compassion and pity upon us; and see please our affliction; and contend our contention. Contend, Hashem , with those who contend against me; fight against those who fight against me. Grasp the shield and the buckler; and rise to my help [ Psalms 35:1–2 ]. And battle on our behalf against those who oppress us. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: Hashem shall battle for you; and you shall be silent [ Exodus 14:14 ]. Help us for we lean upon You. Our eyes have grown dim looking to the heights; Hashem — we have been oppressed; be our guarantor [ Lamentations 5:17 ]. See that our hand has become powerless; and there is no longer one who is shut in or free [ Deuteronomy 32:36 ]. Be gracious to us, O G‑d; for man has trampled us; all day long the enemy oppresses us [ Psalms 56:2 ]. And we do not know what to do — for upon You our eyes are set; act for Your sake and not for ours. And grant us merit through Your abundant mercies to give much charity to many worthy poor people for Your Name alone — without any falsehoods and without any ulterior motives. And help us always to fulfill the commandment of charity as is proper as Your good will desires — in great holiness and purity in joy and goodness of heart. And may You save our souls that we never stumble in unworthy poor people; and guard us from bad charities that are not according to Your will. And have compassion upon us with Your compassion; and protect us and save us that the bad charities that are not truly according to Your will not harm us at all — those that cause what they cause. Please, O Merciful One — through Your abundant mercies save us and guard us from them; and give power to the true tzadikim , the men of truth — who shall draw to themselves all the charities in the world; who stand afar from the misleading herd of truth [ adurei emes ]. And help us through Your abundant mercies that we merit to be included in the attribute of our father Yaakov may he rest in peace — whose attribute was truth; and may we merit to the attribute of truth in completeness. And grant us merit to do all the commandments before Hashem our G‑d as You commanded us — with all their details and fine points; for Your Name alone in truth; without any ulterior motive; and without any alien thought on account of people, G‑d forbid. And may we merit to truly walk humbly [ hatznea lechet ] — to be precise about all the commandments between ourselves and our Creator; to do them in ultimate completeness for Your Name alone in true and complete truth. And help us to cleave and be included with true tzadikim and upright people — men of truth. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And it shall be righteousness for us when we keep all this commandment before Hashem our G‑d as He commanded us [ Deuteronomy 6:25 ]. And it is written: And for you who fear My Name shall a sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings [ Malachi 3:20 ]. And it is written: Give truth to Yaakov; lovingkindness to Avraham; as You swore to our fathers from days of old [ Micah 7:20 ]. Help us, help us; be gracious to us, be gracious to us; save us from quarrelsome tongues; save us and guard us that the great dispute that now exists in the world not harm us at all in our service; and in particular the controversy that now exists between the Torah scholars and the upright ones of the generation. Have compassion and pity upon us that no dispute harm us at all — neither materially nor spiritually. And may You drive away and nullify all the evil thoughts from upon us and from our territory; for we have no counsel or stratagem against them — save upon You alone we cast all our burden; and You shall battle for us; as it is written: On the day that I fear — I shall trust in You [ Psalms 56:4 ]. For my enemies without cause are more than the hairs of my head [ Psalms 69:5 ]. Hashem — how numerous are my tormentors; many rise up against me. From my youth they have greatly oppressed me — yet they have not prevailed against me. Upon my back the plowers plowed; they lengthened their furrows. Hashem the righteous one has cut the cords of the wicked [ Psalms 3:2, 129:2–4 ]. Let those who seek my soul be ashamed and disgraced; let those who devise my evil fall back and be confounded [ Psalms 35:4 ]. And my soul shall rejoice in Hashem ; it shall exult in His salvation. All my bones shall say: Hashem — who is like You, Who rescues the poor from one who is stronger than him; and the poor and destitute from his robber? [ Psalms 35:9–10 ]. See my tears and my sigh and my groan and the bitterness of my heart and the longing of my eyes for Your true salvation. Do not forsake me, Hashem my G‑d; do not be distant from me. Hasten to my help, my Lord, my salvation [ Psalms 38:22–23 ]. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You — Hashem , my Rock and my Redeemer [ Psalms 19:15 ]. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that You help me through Your abundant mercies; and grant me merit to sanctify the speech of my mouth always. And may I merit to always speak many holy words every single day; that I merit to multiply in the study of the holy Torah and in prayers and supplications and requests many times every single day; and may I not stop my mouth from recitation and study and prayers and requests and songs and praises to Your great and holy Name; and all day long may my conversation and speech be in Torah and prayer. And may I merit to confess verbal confession before You every day for all that I have blemished against You; and to enumerate my sins before You with a full mouth explicitly. And may I merit to greatly multiply in hitbodedus [private personal conversation with G‑d] always; until the holy speech remembers and recalls me for good and returns me to You truly and with a whole heart — in complete repentance before You. And do not forget me, Heaven forbid, in these shameful places that I have been ensnared by through my many iniquities; and hasten to recall me and to bring me out from them quickly and speedily. And may the verse be fulfilled in me: Is Ephraim my precious son; is he a child of delights? For whenever I speak of him I still remember him; therefore My innards are stirred for him — I shall surely have compassion upon him, declares Hashem [ Jeremiah 31:20 ]. And through Your abundant mercies may You have compassion upon Your exiled glory — which dwells with us in great exile; and the holy speech is in exile. And help us that we merit to bring the speech out from exile. And protect us and guard us always that no word that is not as You will go forth from our mouth forever; and may we never blemish the speech of our mouth; rather may we merit to always sanctify the speech of our mouth; and to multiply in words of Torah and prayer and other holy speech. Our Father, merciful Father — draw me close to Your holy Torah; and grant me merit to meditate in Your Torah day and night; until I merit to cool all my burning heat through the speech of my mouth in Torah and prayer. For You know the immense blazing of the bonfire of my heart; for my heart blazes very greatly with sparks of consuming flame — sometimes my heart blazes greatly toward You like the burning of a great fire; for love is as strong as death; jealousy is as hard as the grave; its sparks are sparks of fire, a flame of G‑d [ Song of Songs 8:6 ]; but it exceeds the proper measure — until it can consume my entire body, G‑d forbid. And within that my mind becomes confused; and my heart turns and blazes, G‑d forbid, toward the desires of this world like a torch of fire; like an oven that blazes while the baker is baking — until they wish, G‑d forbid, to eat and burn my body and soul, G‑d forbid; and I do not know where to flee and to hide from this great fire. And I go wandering and straying in this desolate land; and I have no rest from my pursuers. I was wakeful and became like a solitary bird on a roof [ Psalms 102:8 ]; like a ship tossed about in the heart of the sea — going up to the heavens and descending to the depths; for the ascent is not in order and the descent is not in order; like a drunkard and like a man overcome by wine. And my mind is turbid and all my wisdom is consumed; for everything I tried to cleverly devise as tactics and counsels against my spiritual enemies came to naught. Please Hashem — You know all that has happened to me from my very beginning until this day. And now Hashem our G‑d — You are our Father; we are the clay and You are our Potter; and we are all the work of Your hand [ Isaiah 64:7 ]. I am in Your hand like clay in the hand of the Potter; for now I have no wisdom and no discernment and no counsel — except to cry out and to call to You alone; until You be gracious to me through Your abundant mercies and Your great compassion; and draw me close to You for Your sake alone. Full of mercy — give me a house of refuge within the words of Torah and prayer; that I merit to multiply in words of Torah and prayer every single day; and may the divine spirit [ ruach Elokim ] of the holy speech hover over me and protect me and save me; and may it blow upon my heart and extinguish the fire of the desires; until all the desires be nullified from me from now and forever. And may I merit through the holy Torah to condense even the holy burning toward You — that the burning toward You be in gradation and measure as Your true and complete good will desires; and may I not exceed the measure at all. And may You save me through the merit of the holy speech; through the merit of the holy Torah — from all manner of sins and iniquities and transgressions and from all evil desires; and may You drive away the spirit of folly from me. And grant me merit to draw upon me a spirit of life — the holy spirit; through the holy cord [ chevel dikdushah ] through the holy speech. And may the verse be fulfilled in us: And I shall give you a new heart; and a new spirit I shall place within you; and I shall remove the heart of stone from your flesh; and I shall give you a heart of flesh. And My spirit I shall place within you; and I shall make it so that you walk in My statutes; and My judgments you shall keep and do [ Ezekiel 36:26–27 ]. And may we merit to raise up the holy sovereignty [ malchus dikdushah ] from the exile. And may You grant us merit — us and all Your people the House of Israel — that each and every one merit to reveal their portion of the holiness of Mashiach that is rooted within each and every one of Israel. And may You draw upon us good and long life; and grant us merit to eternal life; and have compassion upon us and save us and grant us merit to stand and rise in the resurrection of the dead to eternal life — together with the rest of the righteous and the pious and the wholehearted and the upright. May it be Your will, Hashem our G‑d and G‑d of our fathers — that we keep Your statutes and Your commandments in this world; and may we merit and live and see and inherit goodness and blessing for the days of the Mashiach and for the life of the World to Come; and may we merit to magnify and exalt and glorify and raise up Your sovereignty in the world; and to reveal and to publicize Your sovereignty to all who come into the world; and to raise up the holy sovereignty [ malchus dikdushah ] to its root; and may it return to its Beloved with love and brotherhood and friendship. And may the yichud [unification] of the Holy One Blessed be He and His Shechinah [ Kudsha Brich Hu uShechintei ] be accomplished through us always with complete unification. May my mouth be filled with Your praise all day long — Your glory [ Psalms 71:8 ]. I shall bless Hashem at all times; His praise shall always be in my mouth. The praise of Hashem shall my mouth speak; and all flesh shall bless His holy Name forever and ever; and we shall bless G‑d from now and forever — Halleluyah [ Psalms 34:2, 145:21, 115:18 ]. And may I merit to fulfill the verse: This book of the Torah shall not depart from your mouth; and you shall meditate in it day and night [ Joshua 1:8 ]. And it is written: And as for Me — this is My covenant with them, says Hashem : My spirit which is upon you; and My words which I have placed in your mouth — shall not depart from your mouth; nor from the mouth of your offspring; nor from the mouth of your offspring's offspring — says Hashem — from now and forever [ Isaiah 59:21 ]. And may we merit to recognize You in truth above all the worlds; and may the verse be speedily fulfilled: And He shall give strength to His King; and raise up the horn of His anointed one. For the dominion belongs to Hashem ; and He rules among the nations. And saviors shall go up on Mount Zion to judge Mount Esav; and the dominion shall be Hashem 's. And Hashem shall be King over all the earth; on that day Hashem shall be One and His Name shall be One [ I Samuel 2:10, Psalms 22:29, Obadiah 1:21, Zechariah 14:9 ].
