רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, דַּרְכְּךָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ לְהַאֲרִיךְ אַפֶּךָ לָרָעִים וְלַטּוֹבִים, וְהִיא תְהִלָּתֶךָ. מָלֵא רַחֲמִים טוֹב וּמֵטִיב לַכֹּל, אֲשֶׁר דַּרְכְּךָ לְהֵיטִיב לִבְרִיּוֹתֶיךָ, וְאַתָּה מַטֶּה כְּלַפֵּי חֶסֶד תָּמִיד, וְאֵין אַתָּה חָפֵץ לְהַבִּיט וּלְהִסְתַּכֵּל עַל הָרַע וְהָאָוֶן שֶׁאָנוּ עוֹשִׂין חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, רַק אַתָּה מַבִּיט וּמַשְׁגִּיחַ עַל מְעַט הַטּוֹב שֶׁאַתָּה מוֹצֵא בְּקִרְבֵּנוּ בַּחֲסָדֶיךָ הָעֲצוּמִים, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב: לֹא הִבִּיט אָוֶן בְּיַעֲקֹב וְלֹא רָאָה עָמָל בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהָיו עִמּוֹ, וּתְרוּעַת מֶלֶךְ בּוֹ. וְנֶאֱמַר: אָוֶן אִם רָאִיתִי בְלִבִּי לֹא יִשְׁמַע יְהֹוָה, אָכֵן שָׁמַע אֱלֹהִים, הִקְשִׁיב בְּקוֹל תְּפִלָּתִי.
The eyes of all look expectantly to You; and You give them their food in its season.
עַל כֵּן מָצָא עַבְדְּךָ אֶת לִבּוֹ עֲדַיִן לְהִתְפַּלֵּל לְפָנֶיךָ, וַעֲדַיִן עֲדַיִן עַל מִשְׁמַרְתִּי אֶעֱמֹדָה וַאֲצַפֶּה לִישׁוּעָתְךָ הָאֲמִתִּיִּית, מָתַי תָּבֹא אֵלַי שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לָשׁוּב אֵלֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת, אֲשֶׁר עַל זֶה בִּקַּשְׁתִּי מִלְּפָנֶיךָ זֶה כַּמָּה, בְּכַמָּה לְשׁוֹנוֹת שֶׁל תְּפִלָּה וְתַחֲנוּנִים, וַעֲדַיִן לֹא נוֹשַׁעְתִּי, וַאֲנִי יוֹדֵעַ שֶׁהַמְּנִיעָה מִמֶּנִּי, אֲבָל עַל טוּבְךָ הַגָּדוֹל אֲנִי נִשְׁעָן עֲדַיִן, שֶׁתָּצִיץ וְתַבִּיט וְתַשְׁגִּיחַ עַל מְעַט דִּמְעַט נְקֻדּוֹת טוֹבוֹת הַנִּמְצָאִים בִּי עֲדַיִן, וְתַעְלִים עֵינֶיךָ מִלִּרְאוֹת וּלְהִסְתַּכֵּל עַל רִבּוּי וְעֹצֶם הָרַע שֶׁבִּי, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁתַּכְנִיעַ וּתְבַטֵּל רִבּוּי הָרַע לְגַבֵּי מְעַט הַטּוֹב שֶׁבִּי. וּבְכֹחֲךָ הַגָּדוֹל תִּתֵּן כֹּחַ לִמְעַט הַטּוֹב שֶׁבִּי שֶׁיִּתְגַּבֵּר עַל הָרַע שֶׁבִּי, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה מֵעַתָּה לָשׁוּב בִּתְשׁוּבָה שְׁלֵמָה לְפָנֶיךָ בֶּאֱמֶת, וְתֵטִיב עִמִּי בְּחַסְדְּךָ בְּכָל עֵת בְּגַשְׁמִיּוּת וְרוּחָנִיּוּת, לֹא כִגְמוּלִי וּכְמַעֲשֵׂי יָדַי הַפְּגוּמִים חַס וְשָׁלוֹם, רַק כְּחַסְדְּךָ וּכְטוּבְךָ הַגָּדוֹל וּכְרַחֲמָנוּתְךָ הֶעָצוּם, אֲשֶׁר אֵין אַתָּה מַבִּיט עַל הָרַע כִּי אִם עַל מְעַט הַטּוֹב. וְאַל תִּמְנַע טוֹב מִמֶּנִּי מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם:
Master of the Universe: Your way, our G‑d, is to be slow to anger toward the wicked and toward the good — and that is the praise of Your greatness. And You have told us that even when someone has sinned and rebelled against You greatly — You still wait for him and desire his repentance; and he should not despair of Your mercy — as it is written: Therefore wait for Me — says Hashem — until the day I rise up as a witness [Zephaniah 3:8]. Surely G‑d has heard; He has listened to the voice of my prayer [Psalms 66:19].

וּתְרַחֵם עָלַי וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְתִתֶּן לִי דַעַת שָׁלֵם דִּקְדֻשָּׁה, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לְהִתְדַבֵּק בִּדְרָכֶיךָ הַקְּדוֹשִׁים, לְבַל אֶסְתַּכֵּל וְאַבִּיט עַל הָרַע שֶׁל שׁוּם בַּר יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁבָּעוֹלָם, וְלֹא אָשִׂים עֵינַי כְּלָל עַל מַעֲשָׂיו וּמִדּוֹתָיו שֶׁאֵינָם טוֹבִים, רַק אֶזְכֶּה לָדוּן אֶת כָּל אָדָם לְכַף זְכוּת, וּלְהִסְתַּכֵּל רַק עַל הַטּוֹב שֶׁל כָּל אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, וְלֹא אֶסְתַּכֵּל עַל הָרַע שֶׁלּוֹ כְּלָל. וּבְרַחֲמֶיךָ וַחֲסָדֶיךָ הָרַבִּים תִּפְקַח אֶת עֵינֵי דַעְתִּי, וְתִתֶּן לִי דַּעַת שָׁלֵם דִּקְדֻשָּׁה, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה לְחַפֵּשׂ וּלְבַקֵּשׁ וְלִמְצֹא זְכוּת וָטוֹב בְּכָל אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, אֲפִלּוּ בְּהַגָּרוּעַ שֶׁבַּגְּרוּעִים. וְאֶזְכֶּה לִרְאוֹת וּלְהַבִּיט רַק עַל הַטּוֹב שֶׁבְּכָל אֶחָד, וְלֹא אַבִּיט וְאֶסְתַּכֵּל עַל הָרַע שֶׁבָּהֶם כְּלָל. וְתִתֶּן לִי עַיִן יָפָה וְטוֹבָה לְהַבִּיט עַל כָּל אֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל לְטוֹבָה, אֶת הַטּוֹב שֶׁבּוֹ אֲקַבֵּל בְּדַעְתִּי לְהִסְתַּכֵּל עָלָיו, וְאֶת הָרַע לֹא אֲקַבֵּל, וְלֹא אָשִׁית עֵינַי עָלָיו כְּלָל, לְמַעַן אֶזְכֶּה לִהְיוֹת טוֹב וְיָשָׁר גַּם עִם יְהֹוָה וְעִם אֲנָשִׁים, וְאֶמְצָא חֵן וְשֵׂכֶל טוֹב בְּעֵינֵי אֱלֹהִים וְאָדָם, בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁאוּכַל לְהִתְוָעֵד עִם כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל, לְדַבֵּר עִמָּהֶם בֶּאֱמֶת לַאֲמִתּוֹ מֵהַתַּכְלִית הָאֲמִתִּי, וּלְקַבֵּל מִנְּקֻדָּתָם הַטּוֹבָה לְהִתְעוֹרֵר וְלָשׁוּב לַיהֹוָה, וּלְהָאִיר בָּהֶם מִנְּקֻדָּתִי הַטּוֹבָה, וּלְחוֹנֵן אוֹתָם בַּאֲמִתַּת הַדַּעַת שֶׁל נְקֻדָּתִי הַטּוֹבָה, לְהוֹדִיעָם אֶת כָּל הַטּוֹב הַנִּצְפָּן בִּי מִקְּדֻשַּׁת יִשְׂרָאֵל.
Therefore Your servant found his heart still to pray before You; and still and still — standing on his watch [Habakkuk 2:1]; to pour out his heart like water before Your countenance [Lamentations 2:19]; at every time and every moment; and not to be discouraged from prayer at all — no matter what may be. And therefore I have come to seek mercy and compassion before You: have mercy upon me and help me and save me and strengthen me always — that I always merit to pour out my speech and my prayer and my heart before You; and that I not be discouraged or disheartened from prayer and from calling out to You at all — no matter what; however many times I have already prayed and asked and not been answered; for I trust in Your vast and abundant mercy; and I know that Your mercies are never exhausted. And may You not withhold good from me — from now and forever.
חוּס וַחֲמֹל עָלַי וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל, לְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ וּלְמַעַן צַדִּיקֶיךָ הָאֲמִתִּיִּים וּלְמַעַן תּוֹרָתְךָ הַקְּדוֹשָׁה, עֲשֵׂה לְמַעַנְךָ וְלֹא לְמַעֲנֵנוּ, עֲשֵׂה לְמַעַנְךָ וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ, וְהַחֲזִירֵנוּ בִּתְשׁוּבָה שְׁלֵמָה לְפָנֶיךָ. חוּסָה עָלַי כָּל עוֹד נַפְשִׁי בִּי, כִּי כְבָר פָּנָה יוֹם, וּכְבָר עָבְרוּ מִשְּׁנוֹתַי מַה שֶּׁעָבְרוּ, וַעֲדַיִן לֹא עָבַר עָלַי שָׁנָה אַחַת וְלֹא יוֹם אֶחָד בְּלִי פְּגָמִים הַרְבֵּה. רַחֵם עָלַי מֵעַתָּה לְהַחֲיוֹת מְעַט פְּלֵטָתִי הַנִּשְׁאֶרֶת, שֶׁאֶזְכֶּה מֵעַתָּה בְּכֹחֲךָ לְהַגְבִּיר הַטּוֹב עַל הָרָע, כִּי מְעַט מִן הָאוֹר דּוֹחֶה הַרְבֵּה מִן הַחֹשֶׁךְ. אַל תִּטְּשֵׁנִי וְאַל תַּעַזְבֵנִי אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי, אַל תֶּאֱסֹף עִם חַטָּאִים נַפְשִׁי וְעִם אַנְשֵׁי דָמִים חַיָּי, אַל תַּעַזְבֵנִי יְהֹוָה, אֱלֹהַי אַל תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי, חוּשָׁה לְעֶזְרָתִי אֲדֹנָי תְּשׁוּעָתִי:
And have mercy upon me and upon all of Israel; and give me complete and settled holy knowledge [da'as shalem dikdushah]; in such a manner that I merit through this complete holy knowledge to know and to understand: who I am and what I am; and what has passed over me; and what great repair and what great good is hidden within me from the holiness of Israel [kedushah shel Yisrael]. And may I merit through this holy knowledge always to strengthen myself before You; and may I merit through this to arouse and to awaken others — both near and far — as is possible at every time; to make known to them all the good that is hidden within them from the holiness of Israel. Have pity and compassion upon me and upon all of Israel — for the sake of Your Name and for the sake of Your true tzadikim and for the sake of the covenant of our fathers. And help me at every time and every moment to merit to know the full truth about myself — truly and without any self-deception. And may You be exalted and sanctified and praised and glorified through me; and through each and every one of Your people Israel. Be not far from me O G‑d; my G‑d — hasten to my help; O Lord — my salvation [Psalms 22:20; 38:23].
