**Hayah oheiv me'oid es ha-avoidois ha-peshutois shel stam bnei adam, ha-anashim ha-peshutim ha-keshairim.** Rabbeinu *deeply loved* the simple avoidois of the *plain kosher Yidden* — *ha-anashim ha-peshutim ha-keshairim*. **Ve-hayah oheiv me'oid mi she-yachoil lomar harbeih techinois u-vakashois be-toich ha-sidurim ha-gedoilim, ke-derech ha-hamoin am ha-keshairim.** He loved one who could *say many techinois u-vakashois inside the big siddurim*, *like the way of the kosher hamoin*. **Ve-hayah mazhir u-mochi'ach osanu kammah pe'amim, le-zameir zemirois be-Shabbos** — and he was *makpid u-ko'eis me'oid* on one who was *chocham be-einav* and would not strain himself to *sing zemirois on Shabbos u-be-motza'ei Shabbos* or other *avoidois peshutois*. **Ki ikar ha-Yahadus hu bi-feshitus u-vi-temimus gemurah, bli shum chochmois.** The *whole of Yahadus* is in *peshitus and temimus gemurah, without any chochmois at all*.

**Ve-gam hu be-atzmoi, zichroinoi li-vrachah, koidem she-higi'a lo ha-chola'as ha-koveid she-nis-talek al yado — koidem la-zeh, kol yamav hayah me-zameir zemirois harbeih be-chol Shabbos ve-Shabbos u-be-motza'ei Shabbos.** Reb Nosson notes the personal example: *until the kovedness of his cholaas (TB) overtook him at the end of his life — Rabbeinu himself, all his days, sang zemirois at length, every Shabbos and every motza'ei Shabbos*. The *teacher of the peshutim* was, himself, a *zemiros-singer*.
