'Many fight against me from the heights' (Tehillim 56:3) — meaning he has adversaries above, in the spiritual realms. As the Sages said (Sanhedrin 103b): just as there are adversaries below, so there are adversaries above; just as there are accusers in this world, so there are accusers in the world above. The disputes one feels from people are the visible part of disputes raging in heaven; resolving them takes more than worldly diplomacy.
