This reader has a human interface, but every reader page also has static crawlable text. For any book, use /reader-plain/<book>/full.txt to search the complete work, or /reader-plain/<book>/<part>/<section>/index.txt for one section. This is sitewide and works for all reader teachings, not just this page.

T35 (Tinyana) PNC - Torah Scholars Are Worthy to Know the Future

Pettek Nanach Running Commentary on Likutey Moharan

עיוני: תהלים קיט:סז; ליקו"מ קמא קמ; ליקו"ה ברכות התורה ב.

Beginner: Those who study Torah deserve to know the future. The verse: 'kodem yadati' (Tehillim 119:67) — 'I knew beforehand' what will be. From where? 'Mei'edosecha' — from Your testimonies, that is, from the Torah itself. Intermediate: Torah is mei'edah on the not-yet — limmud is itself a form of nevuah for the lomdei Torah. Cf. Tinyana T8:2 (nevuah accessible through tefillah); Tinyana T28 (recognizing-by-Torah). The PNC reading: 'knowing the future' here is not soothsaying but the structural certainty that everything in olam ha-zeh is already inscribed in the testimonies. Practical: when learning is honest, the lomeid develops eidus-vision, recognizing patterns before they unfold.
