נֵרוֹת שֶׁל שַׁבָּת מַרְבִּין שָׁלוֹם.

1. The Shabbat candles increase peace.

עַל־יְדֵי רְדִיפַת שָׁלוֹם זוֹכִין לְכָבוֹד בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה וּלְחַיִּים בָּעוֹלָם הַבָּא.

2. Through pursuing peace, one merits honor in This World and life in the World to Come.

כָּל שֶׁהוּא מִפְּנֵי דַּרְכֵי שָׁלוֹם אֵין בּוֹ מִשּׁוּם "מִדְּבַר שֶׁקֶר תִּרְחָק".

3. Anything which is for the sake of the 'ways of peace' is not subject to [the injunction to] “distance yourself from something false”.

בְּנֵי־אָדָם הַכּוֹפִים לִצְדָקָה, עַל־יָדָם שְׁלוֹם הַמַּלְכוּת נִתְוַּסֵּף.

4. People who press [others to give] charity, through them the peace with the government increases.

עַל־יְדֵי רְדִיפַת שָׁלוֹם בָּא לְבִטָּחוֹן.

5. Through pursuing peace, one comes to trust [in G-d].

שָׁלוֹם בָּא עַל־יְדֵי אֱמֶת.

בִּנְיַן יְרוּשָׁלַיִם תָּלוּי בְּשָׁלוֹם.

כְּשֶׁיֵּשׁ מוּסָר, יֵשׁ שָׁלוֹם.

9. When there is Mussar (moral refinement), there is peace.

עַל־יְדֵי לִמּוּד תִּינוֹקוֹת בְּבֵית רַבָּן נִתְרַבֶּה שָׁלוֹם.

עֲכִירַת הַמַּיִם הוּא סִימָן שֶׁאֵין שָׁלוֹם.

כְּשֶׁאֵין שָׁלוֹם, הַתְּפִלּוֹת אֵינָם מִתְקַבְּלוֹת.

עַל־יְדֵי שָׁלוֹם זוֹכִין לְהִתְגַּלּוּת אֵלִיָּהוּ.

מִי שֶׁמַשְׁאִיל לִבְנֵי־אָדָם דְּבָרִים הַצְּרִיכִים לָהֶם, כְּשֶׁיֵּשׁ בְּרִיחָה בָּעוֹלָם, הוּא נִמְלָט.

15. One who lends to people things that they need, when [a crisis causing] mass fleeing comes to the world, he will be spared.

הַשָּׁלוֹם הוּא סִימָן לְחַיִּים.

16. Peace is a sign of life.

17

עַל־יְדֵי רְדִיפַת שָׁלוֹם מַצִּיל לְבָנָיו מִמִּיתָה וּמִגָּלוּת.

17. Through pursuing peace, one saves his children from death and exile.

18

הַבְּרָכָה בָּא עַל־יְדֵי שָׁלוֹם.

18. Blessing comes through peace.

19

כְּשֶׁיֵּשׁ שָׁלוֹם, אֵין פַּחַד.

19. When there is peace, there is no fear.

20

עַל־יְדֵי שֶּׁיֵּשׁ שָׁלוֹם בֵּין הָרְשָׁעִים, עַל־יְדֵי זֶה יֵשׁ לָהֶם כָּל טוּב.

20. Through that which there is peace among the wicked, through this, they have everything good.

לִפְעָמִים הַקָּדוֹשׁ־בָּרוּךְ־הוּא עוֹשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם בֵּין יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל־יְדֵי רְשָׁעִים.

21. Sometimes the Holy One, Blessed be He, makes peace among the Jewish People through evildoers.

הַשָּׁלוֹם סִימָן לְשֹׂבַע.

22. Peace is an indication of satiety.

23

כְּשֶׁהַשָּׂרִים שֶׁל מַעְלָה מִתְגָּרִים, תֵּכֶף הַאי תִּגְרָא נִתְהַוֶּה בֵּין הָאֻמּוֹת וּבֵין הַחֲכָמִים.

23. When the officials Above dispute with each other, immediately the same argument happens among the nations and among the scholars.
