Addressed to: My dear son, Nosson, may he live — and to all his household, may they live. Praise to G-d [ taf-lamed-ches ], we are among the living and in peace. May Hashem, may He be blessed, help [us] always to hear only good, etc. [וכו׳] And what you write — that your father-in-law requests some words of strengthening [ divrei hischazakus ], and likewise our friend Ben Tzion Apter requests a letter of strengthening — I am here to reply to you: that all my knowledge [ yedi'os ] comes from the books of our master, of blessed memory — and the books are found in their hands. Let them study them truly as is fitting — and they will certainly find there fresh strengthening at every time. And certainly there is a great obligation to study every day the Likutay Aitzos with Hebrew-Yiddish [ ivri-taytsh ] that Hashem, may He be blessed, granted me merit to bring to light — for it is a great portion of the Likutay Moharan . The Hebrew-Yiddish is a wondrous explanation and commentary, gathered from Likutay Halachos — and it is very propitious to arouse the one who studies it truly, and to strengthen and to fortify him with a fresh arousal at every time — if the intention of the student is truly to fulfill what is explained there. And regarding your deficiencies — both in the matter of livelihood and in the matter of lodgings — it is already explained in all the books of our master, of blessed memory, that aside from prayer and faith and true trust there is no counsel whatsoever. May Hashem, may He be blessed, grant us merit to always strengthen ourselves in the above-mentioned counsels — in truth to its truth — until we accomplish before Him, may He be blessed, with mercy, all our requests. And may there be fulfilled in us "And may G-d Almighty give you mercy" [ Bereishis / Genesis 43:14 ] — as is explained in Likutay Moharan , Part 2, chapter 62.
