וְהִנֵּה רַבּוּ הַמַּחֲלוֹקוֹת וְהַמְּנִיעוֹת גַּם אָפֵס כֶּסֶף וְנִתְעַכְּבָה הַדְּפוּס וְלא יָכלְתִּי לִדְפּס בִּשְׁנַת תקע"ט הַנַּ"ל גַּם בְּכָל שְׁנַת תק"פ חָשַׁבְתִּי מַחֲשָׁבוֹת הַרְבֵּה לְהַתְחִיל לְהַדְפִּיס וְלא עָלְתָה בְּיָדִי וְעָמְדוּ בְּבֵיתִי הַכֵּלִים הַנִּזְכָּרִים לְעֵיל, שֶׁהֵם הַמַּכְבֵּשׁ וְהָאוֹתִיּוֹת וּמְעַט נְיָר אֲבָל לא יָכלְתִּי לְהַדְפִּיס מֵחֲמַת מְנִיעַת מָמוֹן וּשְׁאָרֵי מְנִיעוֹת רַבּוֹת וַעֲצוּמוֹת מְאד וְהַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ בְּחַסְדּוֹ חָמַל עָלַי וְנָתַן לִי לֵב חָזָק לִבְלִי לְהַנִּיחַ אֶת הָרָצוֹן בְּשׁוּם אפֶן, וְנִתְחַזַּקְתִּי הַרְבֵּה וְלא הִנַּחְתִּי אֶת הָרָצוֹן, וְנִכְסַפְתִּי בְּכָל פַּעַם יוֹתֵר וְיוֹתֵר אֲבָל אַף עַל פִּי כֵן עָבַר גַּם כָּל שְׁנַת תק"פ וְלא עָלְתָה בְּיָדִי לְהַעֲמִיד הַדְּפוּס
Also on that Thursday — 18 Shvat mentioned above — was the beginning of the foundation of the lighting: to light olive oil on his grave — an eternal lamp that should never be extinguished — as we have practiced from then until now. And this too happened through an event in the holy community of Teplik. And it is impossible to explain all the details — for in all of this there were also several awesome matters through which we saw His Providence and His wonders at every time — how He helped us to complete the affairs of Rabbainu zichrono livracha — which were a merit for the many for all generations. And the obstacles rose against us without limit. And had not Hashem been for us — it would have been impossible to complete them in any manner.
