And also on Wednesday mentioned above — the captain said to us that we should tell him what food we could eat and he would give us everything: whether olive oil, or sardines — that is, small salted fish — or olives [black olives], or legumes — whatever we wished, he would give us everything. But I did not wish to accept anything from him that day. And I gave him expressions of gratitude for the kindness he wished to do with us. But I did not wish to accept anything. Blessed be Hashem who gave us favor and kindness in their eyes. And also all of Wednesday we had no sickness at all. And we ate and drank what was in our hands with the help of Hashem Blessed be He — as all healthy people do. Praised be G-d. On Friday — Erev Shabbas Kodesh Parshas Tazria-Metzora — with Hashem's help we came to Istanbul. And the ship stood near the shore. And the drawing-close of the ship to the dry land was delayed until Shabbas had already been sanctified. And because of this we remained on the ship also over holy Shabbas.
