And these sufferings were upon us from that holy Shabbas mentioned above until Wednesday morning. And the sea went and stormed in fury and great noise. And the wind grew very great and strong. And the ship rocked and rolled and turned with great swaying in every direction. And the waves rose very greatly. And every moment great amounts of water splashed into the ship — and sometimes splashed upon us into our cabin. And it rose to the heavens and descended to the depths. And it tossed and tormented us very greatly. And we had bitter anguish and suffering and very great weakness in those days. And I vomited greatly — many times — every single day. Blessed be Hashem who gives strength to the weary — who helped me until here. And praised be G-d — on Wednesday morning we began to return somewhat to our strength. And also the stormy wind eased somewhat. And throughout all the days mentioned above — I ate nothing at all. And everything we drank — tea or coffee — I afterward vomited. And blessed be Hashem — on Wednesday we began to eat and returned to our strength little by little. And this is the day Hashem has made!
