And also on the night of the second Yom Tov — Hashem Blessed be He helped — that there was one who ate also at the master of the house of ours, and he came in joy and they played for him and he began to dance — until afterward we also rejoiced and danced with him together and gladden all those assembled there. And this was very precious in our eyes — that we merited to rejoice and dance on this holy festival — the time of the giving of our Torah — in such a far and different place — which had not occurred to us at all. For we had thought — Heaven forbid — that we would be stuck on the ship on Shavuos — Heaven forbid. And now Hashem Blessed be He had helped us to come to the city to a good lodging and to rejoice on Shavuos with dancing with the help of Hashem Blessed be He. And on Monday after the prayer — we went to the rav to greet him. And I had not been in the synagogue at all on Shabbas and Yom Tov — except on Erev Shabbas in the morning and on Shabbas night. But Rabbi Yehuda Eliezer had been in the synagogue. And he was called up to the Torah there. And he reported that there they took out the Torah scroll in its case — and within the case they read from it. And also they did not lay the Torah scroll down as with us — rather just as it stood in the case — so they stood it on the table. And they opened the case with the Torah scroll together. And they read from the Torah scroll while it stood upright in the case. And from the rav's house we went to the wealthy patron Rabbi Avraham Tilka. And at first they led us to his brother Rabbi Yosef's house — who lived with him in one courtyard. And afterward I entered the house of Rabbi Avraham. And he received us with great honor. And I gave him the letter which I had for him from Rabbi Yechiel. And afterward he told us: if we needed his help — we should come to him after Yom Tov. And we took leave of him in peace.
