Afterward — some people descended from us into the city. And then it became known that this city was Sakis — only some called it Siah. And there we bought a little grapes and other small things for eating. And on Friday — they brought us from the city thirty loaves of bread and two baskets of grapes — which the few Israelites who were found there gave. For in truth Israelites had lived there — only at the time of the war most of them had fled. And only a small remnant had remained there. And behold — at the time we stood there near the city of Sakis mentioned above — the captain told us he would stand there until Monday which was Rosh Hashonah. He also wished to take forty Ishmaelites onto the ship — among them a lord Pasha. And because of this he constricted our sitting in the ambar where we had sat at first in spaciousness. And now when he wished to take the Ishmaelites — he moved the dividing partition greatly into our territory. And through this — our space became very constricted. And there was much discord among the ship's company because of the constriction of space — as most of them were compelled to change their places. And also we had anguish — what would we do on Rosh Hashonah? How would we be able to pray and blow the shofar among Ishmaelites who were accustomed to be very very strict about such things? And other sufferings that would have reached us — Heaven forbid — if they had been on the ship. But Hashem Blessed be He had pity on us and confused their business — and arranged circumstances for good — until in the end not a single one of them was taken.
