Chapter Twenty-Nine: There Is No Despair in the World at All!

The Petek contains a power of strengthening that lifts a person from the very depths of the fall to the ultimate heights. When I found the Petek in the book — the meaning was: I still have hope!

Our holy Rabbenu revealed and cried out with a great voice: "Oy, oy, oy… Do not despair! There is no despair in the world at all!" Even though I had eaten before the prayer and done such a thing — even I still have hope.

Nu — I took this upon myself then: "There is no despair in the world at all." I drew strength from this to stand against this darkness, against this trouble — I had eaten before the prayer. Even though I had done such a thing — nonetheless: "There is no despair in the world at all." Begin now anew to be a Jew.

The meaning of the Petek is such great strengthening for everyone. To receive a Petek from Rabbenu — this is a wonder that has never before been in the world. This is a great and awesome novelty as Rabbenu says: "A novelty like me has never yet been in the world." Likutay Moharan is full of strengthening — all the Torah portions contain only strengthening: not to despair and to begin anew every moment. Nu — and I know of this, I study this, I walked with this. And suddenly all this strength was cut off from me through the fall — through the eating on the seventeenth of Tammuz. Not a single word of Rabbenu helped me. I fell into such darkness that I had no healing at all. And this Petek was my healing. They said to me: "Open the book and there you will find healing for your soul." And from that time the illness left completely — and the healing has continued all the days of my life!

This is a thing impossible to describe or tell — the matter of the sadness I had, and then such joy. And it gave me healing — the opposite of sadness. And this brought me new life — a life of joy always, all the days of my life. Whenever I received a blow — I immediately took the Petek and everything was annulled and I became joyful. Every time something passed over me — in body, in soul, in falls, in descents — immediately I took the Petek and read it. And already there was healing. I saw that a different matter happened — a new song was made. And it is like new to me. It comforts me, heals me from all the illnesses — in body and soul. And that is all.
