תּוֹרָה קמ הַצַּדִּיק בְּעַצְמוֹ אִי אֶפְשָׁר לְהַשִּׂיגוֹ, כִּי אֵין בּוֹ שׁוּם תְּפִיסָה, כִּי הוּא לְמַעְלָה לְגַמְרֵי מִשִּׂכְלֵנוּ, רַק עַל־יְדֵי אֲנָשָׁיו הַמְקֹרָבִים אֵלָיו, שֶׁהָעוֹלָם אֵינָם רְחוֹקִים עֲדַיִן מֵהֶם כָּל־כָּךְ, וּבָהֶם יֵשׁ לָהֶם תְּפִיסָה וְהַשָּׂגָה, עַל יָדָם יְכוֹלִים לְהָבִין מַעֲלַת הַצַּדִּיק:

The Tzadik himself is impossible to attain — for he has no grasp at all — for he is entirely beyond our intellect. Only through his close men who have drawn near to him — who are not yet so far from the world — and in them the world has grasp and attainment — through them one can understand the level of the Tzadik.
