תּוֹרָה כו - רְצִיצָא א הַצַּדִּיק שֶׁמֵּמִית אֶת עַצְמוֹ וּמוֹסֵר אֶת עַצְמוֹ בִּתְפִלָּתוֹ, וְכֵן כָּל מִי שֶׁמֵּמִית אֶת עַצְמוֹ עַל הַתְּפִלָּה, יֵדַע שֶׁבַּמָּקוֹם שֶׁנִּכְנָסִין בּוֹ מַחֲשָׁבוֹת זָרוֹת וְצָרִיךְ לְהַעֲלוֹתָם כַּיָּדוּעַ, שָׁם צָרִיךְ לוֹ לִמְסֹר נַפְשׁוֹ בְּיוֹתֵר, שֶׁעַל־יְדֵי־זֶה יַעֲלֶה נִיצוֹצֵי הַקְּדֻשָּׁה:

The Tzadik who gives his life and surrenders himself in his prayer — and likewise every person who gives his life over to prayer — should know: at the place where alien thoughts enter and one must elevate them as is known — there specifically one must surrender one's soul even more. For through this the holy sparks will be elevated.
