וְהִנֵּה רָאה רָאִיתִי נִפְלָאוֹת הַשֵּׁם אֵיךְ מִן הַשָּׁמַיִם עוֹזְרִים לִי לָבוֹא לְנִיקוֹלַאיֶב וּלְאָדֶעס כְּדֵי שֶׁאֶסַּע לְאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי בְּבוֹאִי לִטְשֶׁערִין סִפְּרוּ לִי מִיָּד שֶׁה"ה הָרַבָּנִי מוֹרֵנוּ הָרַב שְׁלמה בֶּן רַבִּי לֵיבּ נֵרוֹ יָאִיר בָּא לְבֵית אִמּוֹ בָּעִתִּים הַלָּלוּ, וַעֲדַיִן הוּא שָׁם, וּבְדַעְתּוֹ לִנְסֹעַ לְאָבִיו לְנִיקוֹלַאיֶב וְתֵכֶף הֵבַנְתִּי כִּי לא דָּבָר רֵיק הוּא וּמִן הַשָּׁמַיִם הוּא כִּי עַל יְדֵי זֶה אוּכַל גַּם כֵּן בְּנָקֵל לָבוֹא לְנִיקוֹלַאיֶב, דְּהַיְנוּ לִנְסֹעַ עִמּוֹ יַחַד בְּצַוְתָּא חֲדָא וְכֵן הָיָה אַחַר כָּךְ שֶׁנָּסַעְתִּי עִמּוֹ יַחַד וְלוּלֵא זאת בְּוַדַּאי לא הָיִיתִי בְּאָדֶעס וְלא הָיִיתִי בְּאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל חַס וְשָׁלוֹם אֲבָל אַף עַל פִּי כֵן עֲדַיִן הָיִיתִי מְסֻפָּק בְּגוּף הַנְּסִיעָה, רַק בְּכָל פַּעַם שֶׁנִּזְכַּרְתִּי בְּדַעְתִּי שֶׁרַבִּי שְׁלמה נֵרוֹ יָאִיר בִּקְרִימִינְטְשַׁאק נִתְעוֹרַרְתִּי תֵּכֶף וְהֵבַנְתִּי שֶׁהַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ בְּרַחֲמָיו מְרַמֵּז לִי בָּזֶה שֶׁאֲנִי צָרִיךְ לִנְסֹעַ לְאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי לא בָּא עַכְשָׁו בָּעֵת הַזּאת לִקְרִימִינְטְשָׁאק כִּי-אִם בִּשְׁבִילִי וְכֵן הָיָה בְּעֶזְרַת הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ:
And behold — on Lag b'Omer of the year mentioned above — I traveled to Dashiv. And from there to Uman. And I stayed there until Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan. And afterward I returned home. And upon my coming home they immediately told me that the lord Gardnitse who had been in Breslov was transferred. And this was for me a great miracle regarding the press matter. For had that Gardnitse not been removed — I would not have been able to establish the press. And I had already sent to ask him — and he had not agreed. And behold — after Shavuos my mind was very confused. And I did not know how to establish the press — so that I could accomplish it. For the obstacles were many and very very massive from every side. And also the obstacle of money — for there was still a large sum needed. And there was not in my hand even a single coin whatsoever. And I thought to travel through the region but was greatly prevented from doing so — for several reasons. And my heart went back and forth — many many weeks after the festival of Shavuos — whether to travel or to desist.
