And I was then in great haste on my way — to come to Uman in order to arrive there for Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul. For then many of our anshei sh'lomaynu would gather at his holy monument. And Hashem helped — and I came for holy Shabbas to Bafalye-Varel. And from there I traveled to Uman. And I was on Erev Rosh Chodesh at his holy monument. And then our beloved rav Rabbi Yaakov Yosef may his light shine was there — who had given a large sum in the year 5579 for the press. And I very much wished to speak with him at length regarding the press — that one had to endeavor to establish it. And I wished to lay out my entire heart before him. And behold — at the time I was together with him at his holy monument — there it was certainly impossible to speak with him. And afterward I saw him in the marketplace and we were both busy. And I said to him that we needed to speak together. And he answered jokingly — as if it were unthinkable that we would not meet together to speak. But in the end it was arranged from Hashem that he was very busy. And the wagon-driver and the people who were with him were in very great haste. Until he was compelled to travel in a rush. And we did not meet together. And I had very very great anguish from this. And on the following day I returned and went to his holy monument. And I laid out my heart somewhat before him.
