א. אָדָם הַמִּתְנַהֵג בִּפְרִישׁוּת וְאַחַר-כָּךְ חוֹזֵר מִפְּרִישׁוּתוֹ, עַל-יְדֵי-זֶה הוּא נוֹפֵל לְתַאֲוָה נוֹסֶפֶת מִמַּה שֶּׁהָיָה לוֹ קֹדֶם פְּרִישׁוּתוֹ.
One who conducts himself with abstinence and afterwards retracts from it, falls into additional lust, more than he had before his abstention.
ג. פְּרִישׁוּת מִתַּשְׁמִישׁ חָשׁוּב כְּמוֹ תַּעֲנִית.
Abstinence brings satiety.
ב. הַפְּרִישׁוּת מֵבִיא שׂבַע. ד. חוֹלַאַת שֶׁל רְקִיקַת דָּם בָּא, עַל-יְדֵי שֶׁמְּבַטֵּל עוֹנָה שֶׁל לֵיל טְבִילָה.
One who conducts himself with abstinence and afterwards retracts from it, falls into additional lust, more than he had before his abstention. Abstinence from sexual relations is reckoned as a fast. The sickness of coughing up blood is due to canceling (or refraining) from the sexual relations of the night of (one's wife's) ritual immersion.
